Meet Dr. Khatib
I qualified as a general dentist in 2004 from the University of the Western Cape (UWC). After community service I worked in general practice and did part-time undergraduate dental student training and supervising at UWC. I started my orthodontic journey with a two year part-time postgraduate diploma in 2009 in interceptive orthodontics. In 2013, I was successful in my application for a full-time 4 year postgraduate masters degree in orthodontics. I graduated at the end of 2017 as a specialist orthodontist.
I am a member of the South African Dental Association (SADA) and South African Society of Orthodontists (SASO). I am currently serving on the exco for the Society. I enjoy attending orthodontic conferences, webinars and workshops. I believe it is important to keep up to date with recent orthodontic research and technology.
I am a wife to a wonderful guy and mother of three amazing kids. We enjoy spending time together, especially on the beach, going on bike rides and travelling to all sorts of interesting places.

Hi, my name is Delshae Petersen. I have been in the dental field for 22 years.
I was a registered dental assistant for the first 8 years of my career and then moved into dental reception work.
I have been with Claremont Orthodontics since 2018.
Zandre Adriaanse
Oral Hygienist
My name is Zandre Adriaanse. I am a qualified oral hygienist, registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa. I obtained my Bachelors in Oral Health at the University of Western Cape in 2020. My role at the practice is to coordinate an oral self-care regime for patients and perform certain clinical activities in our patients’ orthodontic journey.

My name is Aqeelah Albertyn, an oral hygienist who graduated in 2021 from UWC with a degree in Oral Health (BOH). I am passionate about oral health and have a great interest in orthodontics.
Outside of orthodontic practice; I enjoy surfing, reading and spending time with my family and friends.
